Polo Club at Weddington

 

We are a community of 95 homes located on 23 acres off Weddington Rd. adjacent to the 

Col. Francis Beatty Park. The community is a combination of quadruplex, duplex, and 

attached single-family residences plus a clubhouse including a fitness room, a pool and a 

small park. Construction on the community was completed in early 2014.

 

The clubhouse is used frequently for organized activities that help people to get 

to know one another better. Activities include weekly coffee, movie, Mah-jong, poker, 

knitting, and bridge groups, as well as a monthly discussion group and book group. In 

addition, there are community parties. The clubhouse may also be rented to residents to 

entertain family and friends.

 

Most of our residents, although not all, are over 55 and have moved here from other parts 

of the country --  many to be near children and grandchildren -- or through downsizing 

from a nearby area. We are a friendly and mutually helpful community, even maintaining 

a list of neighbors to call for help with almost any chore.
